About Jacob (aka automatejake)
Hello! My name is Jacob and I like to push the boundaries of creativity, transforming human imagination into innovation. When I am not working, I like to cook Italian food and compete in Brazilian Jiu-Jitzu. You are able to check out my career path below or get in touch here.
Manufacturing Laborer to IT Admin
While a full-time computer science student, I worked 20-30 hours per week at a steel manufacturing plant, Kim Manufacturing, slinging 100 LB boxes to pay the bills. I had the opportunity to learn the entire manufacturing process and my curiosity led to me administering IT for the factory.
Founder of BizyLife
My time at Kim let me to discover the world of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software and Odoo. I established BizyLife and began building out marketing materials including a YouTube channel that garnered nearly 40K views. This led to several gigs, including a total ERP implementation for a geological consulting company, which allowed me to continue paying my way through school.
Founder of Honestvote
Inspired by winning 1st place for Best Blockchain hack and 3rd place overall at Princeton University's global hackathon for a revolutionary blockchain voting system, I decided to take the idea a step further. I organized a team of 20+ students across 5 different universities to engineer a blockchain designed for voting with a unique consensus algorithm written in Golang. We used Jira with a custom workflow to enforce acceptance criteria, held regular 12-hour hacking sessions, had a custom CRM designed to qualify all Universities in the United States by student count, docker nodes orchestrated in the cloud, and had a connected cross-platform web and mobile app that communicated with the blockchain.
Graduated with BS in Computer Science
I graduated West Chester University Cum Laude with a BS in Computer Science and a CNSS/NSA Computer Security Certificate. As a student at West Chester, I placed in two business competitions, two hackathons, and was elected Webmaster of the Computer Science Club and helped it grow to become the second largest club on campus.
Sr. NetSuite Product Manager
Having a unique background in the ERP space led to several job offers within the ERP space. Ultimately, I accepted an offer from a NetSuite partner, Archer Insights. While there, I grew into a Product Manager role, leading the development for all of the company's Life Science products which helped us solidify our focus and success in this sector.
Returned to BizyLife
Hoping to give a BizyLife another shot, I left Archer Insights after getting married in order to pursue BizyLife full-time.
